Welcome to the Touhou Fight Night Network!

Three years ago today, the Touhou Fight Night Network on Steam was created as a place for fans of the Touhou fighting games to hang out, chat, play games, and find other players to fight against in Touhou 10.5 and 12.3. These days, we still hold to that idea and have included the newest fighting game to the lineup, Touhou 13.5, in recent times.

This past year has been a bit of a slowdown compared to years past, and that's a combination of a few things. Touhou 12.3 wasn't exactly the shiny new game it was nearer the founding of this group, and the community as a whole really turned its attention to Tasofro's next Touhou fighting game, 13.5, or "Hopeless Masquerade". Even with a new game on the horizon, reviews early on were mixed about the new game, and even today Tasofro has released patches to rectify some of the early issues present, as well as to introduce some of the characters which weren't in the initial release. Add to that an unfamiliar playstyle present in 13.5, and you have some people a bit skeptical of this new game.

Even so, the community continues to enjoy playing these games. I'm really quite impressed at how long interest has been sustained in these games, but then again, the Touhou fanbase is not something to be underestimated. New people are finding out about Touhou everyday. It extends way past an online presence and has found its way into locations and events and devices everywhere. Even at many conventions you'll have a Touhou panel titled something like "What is Touhou?" just because there's a lot of people out there who have heard of it (See: "Bad Apple!"), but don't really know what it is or how it came to be.

As for our corner of the internet at THFNN, we'll continue on with being one of the longest standing Steam communities of its kind, and we hope to continue being a place for fans to enjoy being a part of.
