Hello ex-386th members!

The 386th is dead, so feel free to leave the two 386th Steam groups. It was fun while it lasted, but it's time to move on from the 386th. However, for those still interested in Arma 2 I have an announcement that might interest you.

With the upcoming release (29th July) of the Arma 2 standalone expansion pack, Operation Arrowhead, which pits the US Army against insurgents in Takistan, a fictional country which suspiciously looks like Afghanistan, several ex-386th members are planning to make a new Arma 2 clan.

> The New Clan

This new Arma 2 clan will be a fairly unique for an Arma 2 clan, in that it's primarly an Insurgent clan. We'll be playing as US Army aswell, on informal nights, probably in games like Evolution and Domination against the Takistan Army. Hopefully it should be around 50:50 BLUFOR to OPFOR to keep things interesting.

The main event however will be a scheduled weekly game where we play as our very own Insurgent Cell and attempt to liberate and free Takistan from US, and NATO occupation. Each weekly game will have a new custom mission, and all of the missions will be linked into a sort continuous dynamic campaign made by our mission makers.

The clan won't be superserious and tacticool, but there will be a limited amount of training so that we don't constantly melt each others faces with RPG backblasts or run through our own machine gun fire, or run around as a completely unorganised rabble. We won't just be on foot all the time, we'll be a pretty powerful insurgent cell, so we might occasionally use armour support along with our usual techincals. It won't just be ambushes all the time either, there will be a wide variety of missions as the US forces attempt to destroy us and we attempt to liberate as much of Takistan as possible.
