Ponies

This group is here to honor ponies, and is hailed as a cornerstone of affirmative action efforts. All members of the brigade are not only ponies, but also female.

The Pony Brigade was established in 1742 by President Taft in order to encourage diversity in the United States hoofed forces. Taft died shortly after his inauguration when an officer pony, Ponita, told him his was fat, causing him to diet and starve to death. Ponita quickly seized power and brought the Pony Brigade into its golden years. Lord Admiral Ponita was an ambitious pony who began a series of campaigns on many fronts. First she claimed victory at Gettysburg; then Hastings; then Jerusalem. Soon enough, she had launched attacks on Normandy Beach in France. Western Europe was in her hoofs. The land was renamed Equestria, and years of peace ensued. Unfortunately, Ponita was a mortal earth pony. In 1669, she passed away, leaving the Pony Brigade in turmoil. Soon riots broke out as many of the senior pony Generals set their tiny eyes on the open seat of power that Ponita left behind. The Brigade broke into factions with each supporting one of the three High Pony Generals, and soon descended into civil war. Thousands of ponies abandoned the Brigade and fled, for they saw no bright future. After a millennium of perpetual conflict, it became clear that none of the three High Pony Generals had a hoofhold in Equestrian soil any more then they did one thousand years earlier. The Generals were all Earth Ponies. Although charismatic, they had neither the magical combat strength of a Unicorn, nor the swift speed and grace of a Pegasus. The wars had made them weak and Equestria was open for the taking. Then She came. Descending from the pearly gates of Earth's moon, a majestic creature landed in the heartland of Equestria and garnered much attention. She was called a winged Unicron by some, and horned Pegasus by other, but to all ponies of the land it was obvious that the fate of Equestria was about to change. She was called Celestia, and she was a God. Celestia came to Earth with an army of male ponies, which had not been seen in Equestria for over a fortnight. She possessed a prophetic calmness which may be misconstrued as arrogance or overconfidence that, nonetheless, gathered the loyalty of nearly every pony Clan in Equestria.

The rest is history. Since this is an article on history, I shall tell the rest of this story.

Then she conquered Equestria. It was pretty cool. And then she became a Princess. But not a queen, because that would be sexist.

To this day, Princess Celestia rules over Equestria and all it's ponies. YOU have been chosen to fight in Celestia's new campaigns in Iraq and the Middle East. This is a great honor, to die for the God of Equestria. LEAD THEM!
