Introducing The Science Adventure Series

Hey, it's me again.

Hellooo mad scientists, assistants, those who brighten up your world by chanting: "Tutturu~", super hackers, cat girls with superior roleplaying, RaiNet AccessBattlers & cafe running skills, sword-swinging guys who look as beautiful as girls, shining fingers who can break texting speed records, part time warriors with tactical training, creepy little girls, muscular bald fathers and those who come from STEINS;GATE 0 and other mainline entries of the larger Science Adventure series![en.wikipedia.org] I hope you're all having a good day!

WAIT! Did you notice it? All of my announcement intros mention "...other mainline entries of the larger Science Adventure series![en.wikipedia.org]"

So what are these "other mainline entries" and what exactly is the "Science Adventure series"? This is the topic that we'll be exploring today in this announcement.

Lab members, believe it or not, the Steins;Gate series is just one part of a larger universe (series). The larger universe is a collection of science fiction animes like Steins;Gate. There are mainline entries in the universe as well as their respected spinoffs. For example, Steins;Gate is a mainline entry while STEINS;GATE: Linear Bounded Phenogram is a spinoff of Steins;Gate. We call this universe the "Science Adventure series".

You may be wondering what are all of the mainline entries in the Science Adventure series. Let's take a look at them together.

1. ChäoS;HEAd (2008)

ChäoS;HEAd explores a series of murders known as the "New Generation Madness", a random girl that you don't have memories of, and bringing imagined objects to the physical, real world (realbooting). In 2009, an improved and extended version of its respected visual novel released with the title 'ChäoS;HEAd NoAH'.

2. Steins;Gate (2009)

We already know what it is, so I'll be skipping the explanation.

3. Robotics;Notes (2012)

Robotics;Notes explores the rise of a small high school robotics club founded many years ago and the developments in its robotic works amidst an upcoming global catastrophe. It's really niche and reminiscent to the plot of most mecha animes. Robotics;Notes utilizes AR technology. In 2014, a more smoother, definitive version of its respected visual novel featuring anime cutscenes released with the title 'ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE'.

4. ChäoS;Child (2014)

ChäoS;Child takes place 6 years after the events of ChäoS;HEAd NoAH and explores a return of the New Generation Madness and the aftermath of the 2009 Shibuya Earthquake. ChäoS;Child features a new cast of characters and a new plot. ChäoS;Child also includes the same setting as ChäoS;HEAd as well as the positive/negative delusion trigger mechanic. Just like in ChäoS;HEAd, a new girl you have no recollection of also appears in ChäoS;Child. ChäoS;Child is known as a "thematic sequel".

5. Occultic;Nine (2014)

Occultic;Nine explores an occultist aggravating blogger — who is motivated by money earned through affiliate links, and their approach to a series of suspicious deaths occurring at a lake. Occultic;Nine has an anime that is unfortunately infamously short and fast-paced.

6. Anonymous;Code (2022)

Anonymous;Code is a futuristic mainline entry set in the late 2030s, exploring: Earth simulators, a girl with a suspicious background that you meet by pure coincidence, AR technology and complex puzzle cracking.

7. Steins;??? (TBA)

Steins;??? is an upcoming mainline entry in the Science Adventure series that will reportedly be a thematic sequel to Steins;Gate like how ChäoS;Child is to ChäoS;HEAd. We can expect: a new cast of characters, the story to take place years after 2010 on the Steins;Gate world line, a new plot and for time leaping and d-mailing mechanics to remain as mechanics while a new mechanic relating to time is also introduced.

• The Science Adventure universe is interconnected. You can encounter references to predecessor entries while reading/watching a mainline entry. For example, there are references to ChäoS;HEAd in Steins;Gate. Because of this it's highly recommended to experience the Science Adventure series by release date in order to best enjoy it.
  
  
• Anonymous;Code is the only mainline entry without an anime. All mainline entries have a visual novel, however, an English translation of Occultic;Nine's visual novel is not for sale. Occultic;Nine is also the only mainline entry that is incomplete; Occultic;Nine is awaiting a new light novel volume.
  
  
• In all of the mainline entries, the main characters must save the world for some reason that we won't spoil! The deuteragonist females are also key characters in all of the mainline entries!
  
  
• Oh and lastly, the gero froggy is the mascot of the Science Adventure series. You'll encounter this cute froggy in many places, even at our lab in Steins;Gate!

If you're still unsure of which mainline entry to explore without spoilers, then perhaps giving you an idea about the game mechanics can inspire you to make a purchase. For example, in Steins;Gate the game mechanics are time leaping, d-mailing, and responding to messages, right?

• In CHAOS HEAD NOAH, you'll be choosing a positive or negative delusion to experience instead of reality itself. The same mechanics also exist in CHAOS;CHILD. However, CHAOS;CHILD also introduces a new neutral delusion mechanic. Have fun reimagining the present, it can get really fun or really horrific!
  
  
• In ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE you'll be searching for "geotags" through the protagonist's tablet on app called "IRUO". Geotags are used to identify key locations, characters, some objects and secrets. You'll also be playing a mecha fighting game called "Kill-Ballad" on its respected game app and will be responding to messages called "Tweeps" on an app called "Twipo" through the same tablet. Twipo is basically Twitter...
  
  
• In ANONYMOUS;CODE, you'll be saving and loading the entire Earth itself...I know, it sounds crazy. But it's the truth.

If any of these game mechanics sound interesting to you, you can consider purchasing the game they're from. Unfortunately I am not aware of the mechanic featured in the Occultic;Nine visual novel unavailable in English.
