Hey, it's me again.

Hellooo mad scientists, assistants, those who brighten up your world by chanting: "Tutturu~", super hackers, cat girls with superior roleplaying, RaiNet AccessBattlers & cafe running skills, sword-swinging guys who look as beautiful as girls, shining fingers who can break texting speed records, part time warriors with tactical training, creepy little girls, muscular bald fathers and those who come from STEINS;GATE 0 and other entries of the larger Science Adventure series![en.wikipedia.org] I hope you're all having a good day!

As you may recall, on May 04, 2025, we posted a group announcement stating that a new STEINS;GATE visual novel titled: "STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT" would be releasing latest by October 01, 2025. Unfortunately, MAGES. Inc. - the company that develops the STEINS;GATE series, failed to meet this deadline. Shortly after this failure, we had published an announcement sharing this bad news on our group's Discord server[discord.gg]. We didn't immediately make the same announcement on Steam in case the game would release a little bit later.

However, on November 18, 2025, MAGES Inc. officially announced that STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT is delayed to 2026 on their official website[mages.co.jp], on an X account that they manage for the entire Science Adventure series[x.com] and on a website they share announcements for the entire Science Adventure series[www.kagaku-adv.com].

The delay does not come as a surprise as MAGES. Inc. has a long history delaying their titles. For example, the next game in MAGES. Inc.'s Corpse Party series,[en.wikipedia.org] titled: "Corpse Party: Darkness Distortion", was also scheduled to release in 2025 but has also been delayed to 2026[mages.co.jp]. The Science Adventure series in general has also experienced tons of delays throughout history. Did you know that it took 10 years for Anonymous;Code to release? We attribute the delays to the company often shifting their focus on the development of different upcoming titles. For instance, in August 2025, when demand wasn't high, out of the blue, MAGES. Inc. announced a Chaos; Love Chu☆Chu Double Pack for the Nintendo Switch to release on November 27, 2025.[www.kirikiribasara.com]

Anyways, although MAGES. Inc. shared the disappointing news that they delayed STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT, they also shared never-before-seen footage of STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT! It is our first look at the game! Lastly, yesterday on November 20, 2025, Spike Chunsoft Co. - a company which publishes (sells) the STEINS;GATE visual novels on Steam, has also created a Steam store page for the upcoming game. You can access the page from here. The Steam store page confirms that at least 1 NEW storyline will arrive in STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT and that there will be: Japanese, English & Chinese localizations (translations) of the game.

However, the new storyline addition(s) should be taken with a grain of salt as STEINS;GATE ELITE was marketed in a similar manner but revealed no new story. Additionally, Science Adventure series enthusiast and Japanese-English translator for the original STEINS;GATE visual novel: "Andrew 'Steiner' Hodgson" has expressed their skepticism as to what the new visual novel can unveil.

In his full statement given on X, Steiner stated: "With Steins;Gate Re:Boot, my expectations are hedged. There -is- potential for them to do something groundbreaking and meta here, but from a business perspective the safe play would be to straight remake Steins;Gate, especially given their current financial woes. They -could- iterate on Anonymous;Code's series implications and do something ambitious, and potentially alienating. I think most of the diehard fans want that. But I think it is stastically unlikely to happen. Re:Boot is more likely a straight remake w/some bonus content."
