I've just opened up the official X-Isle Discord. Not only can you stay up to date on X-Isle developments there, but it's another way to stay in touch with veterans of Valendia and Mirage games in general.

Not sure if the Discord invite link is going to work here. If not, give me a poke or look me up on Discord (state9440).

X-Isle 2026

I know, it's been a while. I was planning to push hard to be able to re-open XI around christmas 2025, but then life got in the way and then some more and even more. Some of it was great, other parts not so much... Anyway! It looks like I can pick up work on XI once again and I'm still determined to bring it back.

Recently, there have also been some developments that could give XI an even better chance at flourishing, but it's too early yet to go into specifics.

I have set up an official X-Isle Discord, I'll post a link to it soon if anyone wants to stay in touch that way. Interest in X-Isle not required, at least not for old SoC players.

I'm not sure I ever explored the marsh but everything else is indeed a nostalgia blast.

The map still looks like a thing of beauty to me.

SOC was a fever dream that you keep chasing the rest of your life. You know that if it had lasted just one more week we would have finally overthrown the imps, set the lions free and cleared the sewers for good.

It's been really interesting to see the influx of interaction in here this year, 20 years after being a part of the original game. It has most certainly left a mark on those who were there! I find it amusing to think I was 18 when I joined as one of the GM characters, and I'll be turning 38 this year. I look back on who I was at 18 and wonder, "Man, how on earth did State put up with me?" Still, I look upon the entire experience with fondness.
