I am creating this group with the hope of raising awareness of the threat to internet freedom. I may be British, but what starts in America, spreads to Europe, and with half the internet hosted in America...our internet's going to be cut very short...

SOPA = Stop Online Piracy Act

It sounds like a nice thing to protect inventor's rights online. In reality what it means put into practise it would not be very good...

It would mean a level of internet censorship comparable to that of China, all uploaders of content involving gaming or music would be liable to legal attack, and all content of this nature would be removed, meaning a huge ammount of websites such as youtube.

This is a beggining of an end of internet freedom, unless people stop it now, hopefully this has raised your awareness of this problem, I hope that if you are an American citizen, you try to find any way you can to defend your freedoms, isn't that what Americans are supposed to be good at?

Organizations with sense that have acted against SOPA include Wikipedia and Youtube.

We hope also that Steam will act against SOPA.

Imagine life without freedom of information, this is the threat we face, a serious threat that must be overcome.
