Bannable offenses

Social Hatred

The Coffee House is a place where people from all walks of life gather to sit back, enjoy good discussion, and play some fun games. Social hatred isn't tolerated.

- Racism. This includes racial slurs and Nazi sympathy, but NOT religious promotion/persecution or nationalist statements. Racism in either text or vocal form is bannable.

"I hate black people." - Racism
"Hitler was right." - Racism

"♥♥♥♥ Islam." - Not Racism
"The U.S. is way better than Mexico." - Not Racism

- Homophobia. This includes malicious statements against anything regarding people who identify as anything other than heterosexual. Tone of voice matters here. Homophobia in either text or vocal form is bannable.

"(in referencing a gay person) Ugh. Another f*****." - Homophobia

"This map is so gay." - Not Homophobia

- Bullying. Any hostile social activity that isn't racism or homophobia falls under this category. Repeated bullying through text or vocals is bannable, regardless of how personal it is.

Non-social

- Hacking and cheating. Obvious, I shouldn't have to explain this.

Guidelines for admins

- Don't act based on what you want me to see. Trust your own instincts. If you're offended by someone who's not being explicity anything, do what you think you ought to do to maintain server order and preserve the atmosphere.

- On the flip side, humor goes far with me. If you're actually funny, I'll probably let you slide with more than I would otherwise, though limits are always in place. As an nWo admin, I actually banned someone for 4 hours because a joke he told was groan-inducingly atrocious. I'm not necessarily encouraging admins to follow my style, but do remember to always keep the fun factor of the server's atmosphere in mind. A silly kick or short ban, depending on who it is, might be funny in and of itself.

- Some things that will cause demotions: power-hungry attitudes, abuse of powers, absence from server activity, or being a general doormat.
