In any case, to get the kind of heat generation you suppose here, you'd need technology far beyond what you labeled as "magic."
Of course, my point was that without positing magical technology we'll eventually hit the boundary of what's possible and economic growth will completely stagnate. Or we'll consume the Earth's resources and pollute it to such an extent that it can either no longer support civilization as we know it.

When I was 13 at the start of computers becoming mainstream, my friend thought that printers could create anything. He was dumb as a rock, I lived in a ghetto so the quality of education wasn't high. He 100% believed it.
Now we have 3D printers, that can't print stuff like food, but are in many ways like my friend thought. 3D bioprinting is a thing too.
Wow. Like what's next, are programmers going to figure out how to program wormholes?
