Soviet Metal is a group dedicated to metal scene of the Soviet Union.

This group represents the old school metal classics from the USSR of 1980-90s decades, featuring such bands as Aria, Korrozia Metalla, Kruiz, Master, Shah, Hellraiser, Crownear, Aspid and others. In addition to famous bands, we recall undeservedly forgotten bands that also played really cool metal despite the damn Iron Curtain.

Here you can find various bands from hard rock to heavy metal and extreme metal, rock and punk bands as well. In this group we post and discuss anything about the metal culture, even if its not related to the Soviet scene, so come and participate.

Besides Soviet era bands, we sometimes publish 90s bands from Russia and some other ex-Soviet countries (Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltics etc.), which were formed after USSR dissolution in 1991.

Some consider this a communist Steam group, however we are not associated with communism promotion in any way and the admin of this group is not a communist so any accusations will be rejected even if its a joke.
