Upcoming Beta Release

Yesterday I have announced in the am-forums, that there will be a SDv2 Beta in the next weeks.

As mentioned on the forum, there is a todo list that shows what needs to be done until the beta is ready for a release

There is still a lot of stuff to do until there is the first stable release.
Most of the providers are not required for a stable release, but the frontend and backend needs to be ready.


Are there some special requirements for SDv2 ?
Yes, it is recommened to have ssh access to the server where sdv2 is running.
This makes the installation very simple (just use the provided installer to upload the files to your webspace and run "composer install" via ssh)

I would like to note that this is not required. You can do the installation manually, but it takes much more time.

I might offer a hosting solution for people who do not want to / can not run SDv2 on their own.

So whats the advantage over SDv1 ?

• The installation of new features is very easy (just edit the composer file and run composer install)
  
• It is possible to change the design by editing a single line in a config file
  
• It is faster - SDv2 uses queues to run time consuming tasks in the background
  
• You can expand it by writing new item / payment providers

Is it free ?
The standard providers are going to be available for free. (Paypal, Alongubkins Store, Sourcemod SQL Admins, Mybb-Integration)

But if you would like to use advanced providers to have a:

• IP-Board (a commercial forum system) integration
  
• Teamspeak Token generation (Requires a Teamspeak-Hoster license)
  
• Pay Safe Card Payment Provider (requires a contract with pay safe card)

you have to pay for it

Providers for applications that are open source are most likely to be available for free. But if you can afford to pay for a closed source application, you can afford to pay for a donation system. (I think that is a fair solution. Comments on this are welcome)
