We are forsaken

Here is a wonderful piece written by our captain.

Alas! alack. The day is lost
Our gobblets and plates, they fill with frost
For here, in this place, with an icy sheen
Our love and our hope, fate did accost.

As golden fire, we rose this morn
Chariots screaming, battle cries borne
Then an invincible wall, an impervious screen
We collided with it, and fell crumpled and torn

Alas! alack. The fire shall fade
There shall be no more fervor in the frozen shade
This day, by history forever unseen
Our efforts, so vain, were naught, mislaid.
