关于 SG gift exchange

SG secret Santa, not limited to Christmas time!

The goal of the event is everyone in the group sending out and receiving a nice thoughtful gift. A gift that exists in real life, not just in digital/online form.

With Christmas/holiday season approaching, we thought it would be a good idea to send Christmas/winter/holiday AND/OR video game themed presents!

You'll be randomly matched with one of the other participants. You'll pick out a nice gift for them (recommended/minimum value of 15 EUR/USD) and send it to their home address. The gift can include pretty much anything, as long as it's related to video games but is not an actual video game; T-shirts, posters, plushies, silly videogamey socks, snacks, books, water bottles… Someone will do the same for you, but it won't be the same person you'll be sending a gift to.

Once you receive your gift, you'll post a short description and at least one photo of the gift in the group discussions. At this point, the gifter can reveal themselves, if they wish to do so. It's perfectly fine if they want to stay anonymous, though.

Once again we'll try to keep the event small - after all it's just two humans (or a fox and a dog?) keeping an eye on things, ensuring everything goes smoothly. The maximum number of participants is 40.

Timeline:
3-15 November: Recruitment phase.
10-20 November: Participants will be asked to fill out a questionnaire (you'll be asked for your full name, address, phone number and some additional info about yourself/your interests to make it easier for the gifter to pick a nice present).
20-30 November: Participants will be randomly assigned a match and an e-mail with the recipient’s info will be sent to the gifter. The gift will have to be sent out by 30 November!

We're hoping that by having all the gifts sent out by the end of November, all gifts will arrive to their destinations safely by the end of December.

Thank you for sending your questionnaires in before the deadline! We're now a bit ahead of schedule so you might receive the info about your recipient early. :)

Just to sum up some imporant info:
- the gift should be Christmas/winter/holiday AND/OR video game themed.
- the recommended value of the present is 15 EUR/USD (cost of shipping not included in the recommended value).
- the gift needs to be sent out by 30 November.
- if you have any extra questions for your recipient, DO NOT contact the recipient directly! Instead send a message to your contact person (either skanda or foxpile, depending on which one of us will contact you with info about your giftee) and we'll act as a messenger to maintain the anonimity of the Secret Santa.
- if you need any help with picking out a present or finding the best way to send it, send a message to your contact person.

Once you *send* the present, make sure to send proof of shipping to your contact person (or to sg.gift.exchange@gmail.com).
