Sandbox Gaming - We play, so they can play!

Can you believe it's already been over 6 months since our last marathon? In December, we managed to raise over $5000 for the R.E.A.L. Program, which was amazing! For the last few months, we've been prepping, planning and, of course, practicing for our next big marathon. And brother, this one's a doozy.

On July 4, 2014 (less than a week!), Sandbox Gaming will be bringing you our most ambitious marathon to date! For our 8th (!) marathon, we will be livestreaming a whopping 40 games in our 80 hour window - that's an average of a game every 2 hours! And to top it off, every single one of these games have never been seen at a Sandbox Gaming marathon! Sure, we'll all miss some of our favourites (Lost Levels will return in the future, no doubt about that), but we've got some awesome new games lined up. Ducktales Remastered! Sonic Generations! Gunpoint! The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD! Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze! There'll be thrills, and chills, and poking fun at John!

So some of you may have just said "Wait, did I read Gunpoint? Wasn't that only released on PC?" And you'd be correct. This marathon is breaking the mold in more ways than one. For the first time, we will be playing PC games during a marathon! We've got classic PC adventure covered with The Secret of Monkey Island, and modern platforming hell games like VVVVVV and Super Meat Boy. We'll even be featuring no-doubt impressive feats of surgery simulation by our own world-renowned "surgeon" Matt Shea!

The most important feature of this marathon is, of course, the cause. This time, we'll be teaming up with Easter Seals NL, a most excellent charitable organization that works to help children and youth with disabilities maximize their abilities through their diverse programs. We'll be streaming directly from the Husky Energy Easter Seals House, giving us the unique chance to interact directly with the great kids involved in their programs and see close-up those that we're striving to help.
