RogueLITES (or rogue-lites) differ from rogueLIKES in a few ways: roguelikes must meet specific criteria (turn-based JRPG combat, procedurally generated levels, tile-based movement, XP leveling and perma-death), whereas roguelites change up the playing field by removing one or more of these features.
