This polar bear icon cannot do as a flag, just an icon. A symbol, if you will, of our culture and our fauna. The time has come, however, to adopt a national flag. I have to personally suggest the image at:

We now have more members than any other pathetic excuse of Svalbard democracy. We are the democracy, not any other steam group. If you wish for an independent Svalbard (don't we all), this is the ONLY group for you. With increasing member numbers, this accurately reflects the glorious fight for freedom of the people and the land. Continue the rise of Democracy! YES!

It is illegal to die in Svalbard
Yes, you read the right! Death is forbidden. Longyearbyen only has a small graveyard that stopped accepting new burials over 70 years ago. Why? Because the bodies never decompose. Scientists found that bodies are perfectly preserved because of the permafrost.

So if you’re going to die, go do it somewhere else. It’s the law!
