R890 Gaming Network's Last Day!

Hey guys,

As much as we would all love for the network to be up and running again, factors such as the constant DDOS and the TF2 player database shifting towards other games, it is just not really possible to achieve that goal. Hate to be a pessimist, but from the statistics this month, it is just not looking that way. So today is R890 Gaming Network's last day. Unfortunately it is near Christmas time, but it was something that needed to be done a long time ago. It really does sadden me to finally put her to sleep, but like I have previously stated, things just aren't working out.

A big thank you to everyone who has supported the server throughout the 1.5 years the R890 Gaming Network has been running, and a big thank you to the moderators who have helped to expand and manage the best community around.

This does not mark the end of me, just the end of the network. If you see me in any of the TF2 or CS:GO servers still existing, feel free to say hi and ask me some questions! I will be glad to do so.

As for the Steam groups, they will remain as a reminder of what was an awesome community.

Hey guys,

Just read all of the comments and talked it over with the moderators. Looks like no one wants to let the server go. Thanks for all of the support so far on this "warning announcement", and I've rethought things through. After negotiating with the server sponsors, they have decided to support OUR decision to continue the R890 Gaming Network journey! We are going to make it through this DDoS storm of insanity, and enjoy the server in all its glory at the end of it!

A comment from the future because a friend out of nowhere gave me a link that led to this group... I'm not really the best at words, but I feel like I want to say a few things for closure.

I (Poela) was the 1st moderator that Rubiks employed when the server went live. (He isn't in my list anymore, prolly because we haven't spoken each other since the server went down, but I hope he's doing okay.) As a mod, I didn't really leave a good impression on everyone... I abused a bit of my powers, kept wanting attention, and even involved myself in drama with a few players over little things that made me upset... I regret it now. (I won't mention names but if you were one of those people, I apologize.)

On the bright side, playing in R890's server was fun and I even met some very nice people that helped me improved as a person and as a TF2 player. Ah, how I've missed playing in the server back in 2013-2014... it was fun while it lasted. :)
