The Altai Republic is a constituent entity of the Russian Federation and is part of the Siberian Federal District. It is located in the center of Eurasia, in the south of Western Siberia, in the northwest it borders with the Altai Territory, in the northeast-with the Kemerovo region-Kuzbass, in the east-with the Republic of Khakassia and the Republic of Tuva, in the south — with Mongolia and the People's Republic of China, in the southwest-with Kazakhstan. The highest mountain — Belukha (Kadyn-Bazhy) — 4506 m, is the highest point in Siberia.Territory – 92,903 thousand km2
