Nyrebos Gaming Community

What is Nyrebos?
Nyrebos is a gaming community founded in 2014 with the goal to create an inclusive environment for all walks of life. We pride ourselves in being a very open community who not only play games together but share life experiences. Topics like mental health, politics, religion, or other tough discussions are something we think are important to discuss. We want to allow those conversations while maintaining a respectful environment. Above all else we are gamers and today's gaming environment has become one that can be extremely toxic. This is not to say that jokes are not allowed. Many of us in the community come from a wide background from military service to emergency medical service where dark humor is the main form of coping, but there is a line I have seen crossed many times where the joke is targeted and harmful. This community is meant to be a step away from societal pressure and our day to day lives. We all know life can be forever stressful with never ending twists and turns and many of us use gaming as a way to escape that. Destress. Our goal of this community is to create that escape. A place you want to retreat to for advice, for escape, for compassion, for good times and bad.

Why the name Nyrebos?
Nyrebos is a world I am developing the lore and stories for. The name originates from combining the names for two of the children of chaos in Greek mythology (Nyx and Erebus). Nyx being the personification of the night and Erebus being the personification of Darkness. The goal is to eventually tell that story in a post-apocalyptic survival game drawing inspiration from games like Stalker.
