2. One player needs to create a team on http://www.ensl.org
3. The team needs to sign up for TAW Newcomer Tournament

Now practice as a team. Decide who will command and what lifeforms you want to play.

TAW will teach you the basics of competitive NS2 every wednesday and sunday night.

Unfortunately I'm not allowed to play in the tournament but I'm looking forward to play against you later on.

Most teams use TeamSpeak for their communication. It can be done without TS though. Feel free to use TTO TS server at 85.229.112.48 with standard port and no password.
