The New Age of Iberia

The Duke Marshal and the Duke of Rendon met the first army of Leon near the Northern Border. To the Duke Marshal's surprise, the people of Leon fielded an army almost equal in size.

The oncoming fight would be a battle of skirmishers. The Spanish crossbowmen made quick work of the Leonese, allowing the cavalry to flank from the sides. The additional upgrades to Merchant Cavalry allowed the Spanish army to outright defeat any knights as they would've been doubled in number.

Once the flanks were open, small attacks were conducted to draw the line to shift. The moment it did shift, the Marshal's army rushed forth.

The shock and impact of this rush quickly broke the front lines. The Duke of Rendon, leading a smaller force, capitalized on this moment and broke through the western wall of troops.

Knight Captains Andre de Torro and Diogo Cardozo lead both retinues underneath the Marshal and ran down all enemies who fled.

We are victorious in our first battle. We will continue to push into Leon once troops have recovered and replaced with additional levies from other duchies.
