Opening Up Shop: What you need to play Monopoly Tycoon today

Greetings ruthless capitalists,

Let's get everyone on the same page and have some games of economic cunning.

You can find a .iso file for Monopoly Tycoon here: https://www.myabandonware.com/game/monopoly-tycoon-a3e

There are also some extra patches there. At the very least you need the .iso filed, the 1.2 patch, and the 1.6 music fix (though if you disable music in the settings you shouldn;t absolutely need this last fix).

Grab the 1.4 patch from here as well: https://www.fileplanet.com/archive/p-46832/Monopoly-Tycoon-1-4-Patch

Download all that and extract these files somewhere you can easily find them.

Then you'll need some sort of virtual drive. I use Virtual CloneDrive but Daemon Tools Lite is a good option and there are plenty of others. Google either of those, install it, then mount the .iso file and follow the prompts to install. Install everything it prompts you to, especially if you intend to play online multiplayer.

My install order was MT, 1.2 patch, 1.6 music fix, then 1.4 patch. Not sure if you can skip the 1.2 patch and just do the 1.4 version. I also followed the instructions to install the extra texture stuff but I can't find any options for that in the menus so I'm not sure what's up there.

The important part is my game is completely functional and ready for online multiplayer!

After that, grab Tunngle or Hamachi and install it. Again, Google it and follow the prompts. This is what you'll use to connect to others' games or to get them to connect to yours.

Hey everyone! I would love to play this old gem of a game in multiplayer, do you know where I could buy it at a decent price, or does multiplayer work on a pirated version? I was hoping to find it on steam, but at least I found this group! :)

There were some external programs to modify the game and manage lots more things internally with the game. To see the demand for each block, build an apartment on the city block and use the survey tool (clipboard with piece of paper) which is located in the city view only.
