Hey there everyone, I know its been a very long time and we have made this post like 4 times at this point but I feel like it wouldn't be right to not make a ping here for whats about to happen.

In short, I am launching a DarkRP server. Not a new age one, not some copy paste of TitsRP or a cash grab. A REAL DarkRP server, one with few rules, many jobs, and no pay walls. A DarkRP server thats nothing...But Fun...

For a bit of context, over the last few years I have been thinking about our time together in the days of MemeSquad and wishing they had been longer. I have been thinking about what went right, what went wrong, and how I could have changed things. It made me realise that above all, what I needed to do was learn.

So, over the last few years I have done nothing but learn, I have learned as much as I could about how to run my own server and community. I have learned how to write Lua. I have learned how to make web pages. I have learned as much as I could. I have learned what works, I have learned what does not.

Armed with knowledge but with no clear direction yet, I had the fortune of running into and chatting with our old Head Admin, Jackson (who now goes by Mr Frog). After chatting with him for a while it became clear he felt the same way I did. He felt that modern DarkRP has lost what made it so fun to start with. We both agreed on how much we hate what it has become, the sensory overload, the cash grabs, the gambling, the loot boxes, its crazy to me that something that feels like it was such a love letter to gaming communities has turned into such a sterile corporate shell of what it once was.

So, after talking about this for a while we started laughing about the idea of restarting DarkRP. Doing it over again how we remembered it. It was funny, it was a joke. But then it wasn't a joke anymore. I began to put together what I see as an ideal DarkRP server, and with Jackson's help we formed what we are now calling, the But Fun Community.

The whole idea here is that the community and all its servers exist to provide an experience that captures what we remember. Because time and time again I have seen and been told "it wasn't really like that" or "you are just blinded by nostalgia" but honestly its a load of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. We have been gaslit into thinking its true but I am here to tell you it isn't.
