A place to live while we wait for starship keys

The last phase of the 3.9 patch quarter started to see some fairly regular playtime from Darb and myself. Star Citizen became one of our common weekend games, and Edmoo also began joining us for space adventures. A month past due, they finally released the 3.10 patch at the start of August--not to be confused with the 3.1 patch from 2018. It seems when major features were pushed from what was to be patch 4.0, they decided to rework the patch numbering to be correspondingly less substantial.

As has come to be expected, the new patch introduced a number of features and improvements along with an equal measure of broken functions and crashes. The game does still prove itself worthy of working through some difficulty to get to play it though. With bounty hunting and mining continuing to be some of my favorite and most profitable activities, Edmoo bringing his Argo Mole mining ship (loaner for the Orion) to the table has provided a welcome alternative to our combat and smuggling efforts. We've spent the past several weeks working to perfect our method of locating and extracting the most valuable ores efficiently. The power of the three mining lasers combined can make quick work of even the largest of rocks.

I believe the present rate of client and server crashes is a little too high to provide a good streaming experience, so I'm going to hold off scheduling any events for now. I will reassess this prospect with each update. We're already on 3.10.1, and 3.10.2 is currently in testing as they try to fix the many broken elements. Critically, the next update should restore the between-patch persistence of purchased ships, temporarily broken a few patches ago. I'm looking forward to this so that I may once again make good use of all of these profits!
