Hosting Lapes world

Your computer is the one hosting the server once you start the server.
All the files are synced with dropbox and all the other players who have access to this dropbox-folder can also host this server.

It is very important that there only exists one hosting server at a time, and that the hosting server is using a freshly synced version of the worldfiles, or else the worldfiles might get corrupted.

The "start server script.bat" is constructed in a way that it should sense if the server is hosted somewhere else, and then return on what IP.
If the server isn't hosted but not finished synced, the server should not be able to start.
Once the server is up-to-date you can make a new try to start the server.

It may take a few minutes for the server to start up, it is checking if all files are up-to-date, remember there are 15333 files consuming 1GB to go through so 5 minutes isn't unusual.

Please open up port 25565 for the Minecraftserver, port 8123 for DynMap in your firewall.
Dynmap can be accessed in your favorite webbrowser on http://hostip:8123

When everyone have left the server, type "save-all" in the console and then type "stop".

It is now very important that you don't close the console, keep doing what it instructs you to.
Eventually you should get "When Dropbox shows green press the 'any key' to continue", when this shows up you must wait until dropbox have uploaded the new serverfiles, this shouldn't take long. Once dropbox is green you can press the 'any key'.

And that is how you host the server.

In the beginning, there is a personal login. The username is the same as the one you have in Minecraft, but the password must be requested by AntiusII after reading and understanding this readme.txt

There is a log.txt that logs who, when and where the server starts, if it was shutdown gracefully and if the host confirmed dropbox as done.

There is also a backup.bat that copies the worldfiles to the backupfolder, each backup "costs" 640+ MB at the moment

Everything shared in this dropbox is fragile to modifications and can be circumvented easily, this dropboxfolder relies heavily on the trust of our little community.
