A glimpse of the efforts to date, spanning a year. The SE sp developments folder inc backups (not including .inc files). SE also runs a custom compiled linux kernel, custom network stack, as far as I am aware an exploit free firewall and cmd flooding filter. SE also runs the latest sourcemod and metamod (also custom compiled) every single plugin and extension recompiled to match and converted to the latest sourcemod newdecls (not just recomiled in legacy but with full #pragma newdecls required flag) the only L4D2 server in the world I am aware of who would go to these lengths. If you do ever wonder why the server has superior rego and fluency as opposed to others, this is mostly why. Much much efforts behind the scenes, yet all most have noticed and abandoned my efforts is bugs that have arisen during development. This has resulted in about 1/4 the system resource usage, unmatched fluency and rego, and a server capable of running on a low cost vps and using 10-20% CPU if that with 16x slots (inc spec). With every security patch to date, and exploitable user convar filtered and now the final revision to a mostly unnoticeable yet fully functional mathax and transparent wall block ( also developed from scratch) I am very happy with the current state of SE. Much much appreciation and thanks to Megafish for always being willing to start a 1:1 lobby with me and get live games in play to aid in faster development and realistic debugging data.
