This is a long one explaining why we can't release Project Netcode just yet. Skip all the way to the bottom for tl;dr.



So the fact that PN hasn't come out yet even though it was planned for the tenth of July has been brought to my attention a couple days ago by Jordan.

The problem was that there was a specific part we recorded during which the camera needed to remain perfectly still. Instead of that, the camera followed a character as they ran down a field.

To resolve this and make sure this project can be released someday we'll have to do a reshoot wearing the same clothing and make sure it's the same type of weather outside. So, to get this off the ground we may have to wait for several months until we can replicate the original scene.

I could do a few hours of masking if the sky was different, such as take the sky from the original scene, and replace that with the sky form our newer scene, but even then we'd still have to redo that one scene.

You may be thinking we could just use the original scene and edit frame-by-frame. Well, yes and no. The time it would take to get not only the masking down with a viciously moving camera, and not to mention the laggy-netcode part.

tl;dr

We can't do anything with this until the weather is right and we can reshoot in the same clothing. The most important scene was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and that's the only netcode-applicable part in the entire video.

, Project Netcode is just a codename.
