LOL. No. Not trying to sound like MercyMe or anything. My job affords me alot of time driving and that gives me alot of time to think. I've pretty much stopped listening to contemporary music, except for outlaw country music from the 60's and 70's. I mainly listen to christian and faith based music, namely christian hard rock/metal and even some christian rap. Driving can get monotonous, so I have to listen to something while I'm driving and thinking. KJ-52 has a song called "5 minutes" that I just can't stop listening to. Its written from the perspective of Christ while he's in the Garden of Gethsemane after the last supper, waiting for the Roman guard to come and take him away. The songs kind of a conglomeration of what could have been going through Jesus' mind 5 minutes before he's taken away. Jesus knew this day and time were coming. He knew he would be crucified the next day. Crucifixion is still considered one of the most brutal forms of execution ever utilized and Jesus knew how it would be. Yet knowing all the pain he would endure, he still waited. He waited for the Romans to take him. He did not fight or struggle through it all. He died a painful, sinners death for me! That's what makes me feel so weak and sad inside. He laid down his life as a sacrifice for my sins, as well as yours. The Bible says he arose 3 days later and lives now, so my sadness is recanted in that. It still amazes me that my savior did so much for someone as small as me. Not because he had to, but because he chose to. Because he loved me that much. Glory and hallelujah to have a savior that loves us all!
