Angry people that need help. or a kick in the teeth.

Some people are unable to express themselves when their anger emotion overtakes them. They cannot handle these feelings like mature adults so they lash out at others.
These people thrive online because of anonymity. The online environment allows them to use the most vulgar, disgusting insults their childish brains can think up and spew them forth without regard for others or common sense because, quite simply, there are no consequences.
One should not blame these people though, it is not their fault, they were simply not raised with respect, or maybe they were raised in a cave, or by trolls. Whatever the case, these people need help, they need support, not condemnation. They need to be taught to behave like humans not like animals, something their parents failed to teach them.
