As long as you download the program from the official source (and not some third party site) then it's safe from having your account stolen.

To my knowledge, nobody has been banned or punished in any way for using it since it was first released in July.

libsteam_api32.so is part of the Steamworks SDK. You can gain access to the SDK by visiting http://partner.steamgames.com, signing in with your Steam account, and agreeing to the terms.

This file can be found in the SDK at /redistributable_bin/linux32/libsteam_api.so

Yes, since it records playtime on each game as it's idling. Any games you idle with achievements will lower your average game completion rate.

steam-idle.exe and start.exe are the only applications that run, but steam-idle.exe has external dependencies on CSteamworks.dll and steam_api.dll, but that doesn't appear to be the issue here.

start.exe is a python application that uses a Windows wrapper (pyinstaller) for it's functionality which may be wrapping the http requests into a native Windows application that probably doesn't have a firewall exception configured.

The only advice I can give is to either open your firewall for outbound connections (incoming connections should stay blocked) or to set up a Python environment and run start.py manually after getting the required modules and adding the Python executable to your firewall exception list.

I started with just a bit over 200, I'm down to 136 so far. I'm in the somewhat unique position of not wanting to idle my games too quickly, as doing so means it'll be more difficult to develop new features for Idle Master in the future.

Really curious to hear everyone else's total though!
