Pure version 1 is now complete.

I now have a working base for the next mod.

So now I'm looking for suggestions on the name for the new mod. I'm personally thinking of calling it Vengeance, but I'd like to know what you guys think. Please hit up the forums and make your suggestions.

I'm sure many of you are wondering what Pure is about, well let me enlighten you.

For a while now, I've not been entirely happy with Retribution, I've regularly increased the difficulty but it's not made that much of a difference, and I feel that a lot of the spirit of Forsaken was lost. As you'll all be aware, Forsaken was my first ever game mod outside of custom maps, and the first time I'd ever modified a Source-based game, so I started from scratch and taught myself how to do it. Retribution was the follow on for L4D2 but I started with Forsaken as a base, rather than from scratch, this caused a few issues because Valve stripped out, or hid code that was used by Forsaken, and so a lot of the code in Retribution in the early versions didn't do anything. As I've updated and maintained Retribution I've learnt a lot about the changes Valve made to L4D2 and what is and isn't possible, and what has been removed, changed or hidden such that I feel it's time for a fresh start.

Pure is all about going back to the beginning and creating a mod specifically for L4D2, with the same goal as Forsaken, to bias the game towards SI to give the survivors a much harder task of making it to the safe room, but without using any previous code, or mods as a base. Any mod released as a result of Pure will be entirely written from scratch, and hopefully will make a difference to gameplay

As it stands I have no hard deadline, I am hoping to have the mod (name to be confirmed) released by the time the remaining L4D maps are released for L4D2, but this may not be possible due to work commitments etc. or it may be released beforehand if "Valve Time" takes affect.

Most of you are aware of the problems I've had with the website lately, and I'm hoping to have now finally resolved them, however this neccessitated a move to a new website address. So now we're using http://infinityzero.co.uk please update your bookmarks etc. TS3 address etc. will be staying the same :)
