If you've been following the GMT news and announcements, you'll know that there are plans to rebuild the tower in Unreal 4, with a projected launch date of December 2015.

The new game, "Tower Unite" will be $15 and while it will feature the same gamemodes, the maps, physics, models and characters will be completely rebuilt.

In other words, GMT golf as we know it will cease to exist in about a year. I created this group because I love *this* current version of the game. Unreal Engine simply doesn't have the feel Source does. I have decided I will most likelly not be purchasing the game. As a direct result of this, this group will become obsolete at the release date of Tower Unite, and will host no other potential events, contests, or updates.

I need your guys' help deciding what to do with this group. I have thought of a couple options.

1) If one of you plans to purchase the new Tower game and continue to play the minigolf game on it, I will turn this group over to you.

2) When the GMT servers are shut down, I will lock this group from adding new members and simply abandon it.

I know nobody is really active on this group other than me. And that's okay, that's what I expected. I had some hopes to create a general feeling of comraderie, but I was never very optimistic about it. I know most of you just joined the group then never went back to it again. Hell, half the reason I made the group is so I could proudly display it on my Steam profile. This group was always more for my sake than other people's. It was just nice to be in charge of something small, to own something, regardless of how trivial and unimportant it is. I never expected it to be a community of active members. I never held many illusions about that.

That's why I'm leaning towards option 2. I'm not stupid, I'm well aware that the odds of someone caring enough to "take over" the group are slim. I think a lot of us just like having it as a feather in our cap- a nice little acknowledgement that we're all pretty good at something fun. An in-joke to be proud of, no matter how little it is. I didn't invite most of you because you were amazing and could kick ass and take names at minigolf. A lot of you I added because you clearly loved it as much as I do. This group was always more of a "We love minigolf and are pretty good at it" than a "only the top elite, consistent score-crushing players can apply" group.

Minigolf on GMT is fun, but it's days are numbered. Personally, I'll stay subscribed to the group well after the servers are shut off. A reminder of how much fun it was while it lasted. Please let me know what you guys think. I hope some of you will stay subscribed as well, to remember how much fun we all had playing a great game together.
