Genesis is a North-American Iron team, competing in season 19 of UGC Highlander. The season has concluded for the team, so this is only here for posterity's sake.

RULES

○ Don't be a ♥♥♥♥. Being condescending, disdainful, or just generally disrespectful to any of the members of our team is forbidden, and can result in a kick from the team. (There's a difference between constructive criticism and just being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.)

○ Don't be inactive. Especially since season 19 has arrived, we need all of our members to be on Steam, at the very least, three days a week. If this can't be done under certain circumstances (i.e. vacation), please let an administrator know beforehand! Failure to let anyone know of a prolonged absence can result in a kick from the team.

○ Watch out for announcements. All of the announcements posted to this group are very important, and all members need to read any announcements posted as soon as possible.

○ Add your sub (if you haven't already). Having your sub on your friends list is essential, since you'll need to let them know when you can't participate in a scrim or match.

○ Have fun! I know how cliche and corny that is to say, but competing in UGC is a first-time experience for a /lot/ of us. What matters most to me is that we can all walk away from this season with much more experience in teamwork, effort, and communication than before, and that we can learn, improve ourselves, and (hopefully) prepare for many more seasons to come!

Well, this is officially it, guys. Our Week 10 match is officially concluded, and, as the match has concluded, this Iron team has concluded as well. marXmen Apocalypse is simply a team that is not meant to be in our division, and they efficiently rolled us.

Once again, I have to say that it's been a great season. We met some interesting individuals, learned together, laughed together, got really pissed off together, and all-in-all gained a lot of experience in competitive tf2. I hope you guys were able to take away some valuable lessons from this group.

Thanks again for a wonderful season, Genesis!

The End of Genesis + UGC HL Season 20

Hey guys!

Well, this is it. We have officially arrived at playoffs. And upon inspection of the official playoff brackets, Genesis has potentially 1-2 matches left. Here's why:

If you click on that link and select "NA Iron", you'll see that us, Seed8 (or 8th place currently), are going against Seed9, or Envision Crew (the team we won against on swiftwater). We will playing them on cp_steel. Now, if we manage to pull off the win here, we will be facing Seed1 (take a wild guess...) during the Week 2 of playoffs on koth_product_rc8.

Now, I'm going to be straightfoward here. Unless they have a magically ♥♥♥♥♥♥ day, we are more than likely not going to pull off a win against marXmen. Simply put, they're just a beefy team, and it's surprising that they're still in Iron. And that's the reality that we're gonna have to face here. During the playoffs, as soon as we lose a match, our season is over, so...

Unless we win against Envision Crew this coming up Monday, Genesis has one match left.

And now here comes some bran-sap.

My head has been filled with nothing but this competitive tf2 stuff ever since maybe February, and it's crazy to think that this season is finally coming to an end for us. But hey, we actually made it to the playoffs! And that right there is an accomplishment in itself, and I could not be more proud of how far we've all come during this season. Let's make these last scrims and matches the best so far, yeah? I do have to say, it's been an honor to be able to play with all of you. You guys are a wonderful bunch of people. Yes, even you, nova.

And now! One other important piece of information I'd like to add. I will soon be sending confidential messages to certain people within this team. For UGC Highlander Season 20, I have decided that I will be creating a Steel team, and these confidential messages will essentially be invitations to certain positions on that team. And I would like to say it now; If you don't receive an invitiation, A) please don't take it personally, and B) this does not mean that you can't still try out to join my team next season, if you'd like. Spoiler: I will still be the heavy main, and Gom's going to be switching to a multiclass sub. :P

Well, that's really all I have to say. Again, thank you all for such a wonderful season, and I hope that you've been able to take away some valuable lessons and experience. Here's to Season 19!

You guys were a great team. I'm excited to be going into steel with you all, although I might have time issues starting school and me in a different timezone, you guys have been great friends. See you all next season.
