Where Games Are Everything but Small

Game Podunk (GP) was founded on a mission to inform and endorse positive views on the culture of video games and its gamers today. GP is operated by a dozen of industry veterans and is essentially an avid gaming community built by a class of gamers that are of both genders, diverse age groups, and of all professions.

At Game Podunk, we want to be the place for gamers to build a positive social identity. For decades, video games have been targeted and blamed for society’s misconduct and immorality, while gamers are associated with delinquent stereotypes. Politicians, the media, and even some gaming sites today have reinforced and broadcasted this model of negligence to quickly draw attention from the shocked and often ignorant masses.

It’s time to say enough to generalization from people who don’t understand or know what video games, gaming as a culture, and gamers are all about. It’s also time to hold each of us (gamers) accountable so that we don’t directly or indirectly feed the very stereotypes that are against us. Game Podunk believes all gamers play a pivotal role in shaping the industry and changing the views on video games by what we say, buy, and how we act. Hence, our mission is to channel a new (positive) perspective and to contribute our community’s standard of what gaming and the experience of playing them means to us, the gamers.
