Important Server Announcement

Gamealition Crew,

4 years ago this April, TeH_Rage, asim0v, VanDerProtofsky, and I founded Gamealition. We did so primarily because of various issues with other servers we played on at the time. By and large, it’s been an enjoyable 4 years. We’ve reunited with old friends, made new ones, and built some incredible structures. We’ve had a great run.

Unfortunately, all things come to an end and it appears that ours has arrived. As I’m sure you’ve noticed, we’ve been experiencing a steady decline in active membership the past several months and a decline in server donations as a result. In addition, most of the admin and moderation staff have become too busy offline to maintain the type of server you deserve to play on. We have been discussing this privately for some time now and came to the conclusion that it would be best to move on.

What this means for you: Effective Midnight Eastern Time on April 29th, 2018, Gamealition will be dissolved. We are looking into turning off build permissions 1-2 weeks prior to this date and making a final copy of the map available for all players to download. After this date, our site will go down and the files will not be available. Bigmike’s 7 Days server will continue on under his management and our Discord will remain open, but will become more of a general chat for as long as there are interested parties. The Mumble server is also going to go offline.

The good news is that I have spoken to our friends at another Minecraft server, Midgard, and they have offered to help us all with this transition. NgtFlyer has offered to help transfer player builds to their map and may even host a copy of our map to facilitate in this process. For those of you unfamiliar, they’re a good crew with rules and a plug-in set similar to ours. I’ve been friends with the owner for years and many of the staff used to play on a different server with several of their crew years ago. If you are interested in continuing to play Minecraft on a server with a great staff/player base and that is updated regularly, I couldn’t recommend them higher.

On April 28th, I will try my best to be online all day to celebrate Gamealition with anyone who wishes to do so. Yes, that means 12am ET to 11:59pm ET. I may pass out somewhere in there, so no promises. :D

We wanted to provide you all with this advance notice so that you can stop any recurring donations you may have and determine what your plans for the future are. We realize this is a disappointing turn of events and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We also appreciate the last 4 years we spent with you and look forward to seeing you again somewhere down the road!
