Okay ya'll, XCOM has finally released worldwide so we're all good now. If you're looking for multiplayer matches, anybody in the group can post announcements to try and find an opponent within the GAFCOM group. At least, that's how I've set the permissions. Give it a shot and report back.

In the meantime, keep killing xenos.
