Most of fourDeltaOne revolved around the call-of-duty related projects (IW4M, IW5M etc) and due to the termination of all atvi related projects, we've actually lost a large part of fourDeltaOne (some would even consider fourDeltaOne is over entirely).

What we know:
It's all due to legal issues with Activision. The website and NP Server were shutdown due to advice by NTA's lawyer. It now seems the website has been brought back up and pointed to these forums.

And.. this is why the service was suddenly brought offline:

Is fourDeltaOne closing?
No, only the call-of-duty related projects are closing.

No, it's all official. NTA has confirmed over IRC that call-of-duty related

Seeing as BO is also published by atvi, this project is probably not coming back either.

The old forum probably won't be coming back due to the content from projects which no longer exist and this new forum obviously uses nicer software.

Can I still play MW2/MW3/BO?
Yes, you can do this using Steam.

Is there anything planned for the call-of-duty projects in the future?
Nope (not from fourDeltaOne).

I get an error when launching the game, why?
This is because the master server was shutdown and will not be coming back.
What happens now?

Regarding the call-of-duty related games (MW2, MW3, BO etc.), they probably won't be coming back to fourDeltaOne because of the legal issues involved.

Somebody could launch a service offering what fourDeltaOne did, but in the end ATVI still has the ability to threaten the existence of projects like this. Another solution is if somebody develops a p2p version of MW2/MW3 (or similar games) which reduce the risk of ATVI being able to intervene.

Regarding fourDeltaOne itself, many of the other projects which were under development might now see new and exciting features introduced. And there's always the possibility that brand-new projects might be launched!
