Different From The Rest

Hey everyone its Ragon. It's been a really long time hasn't it? Eric gave EGI to me at a time when I was not able to fully support it and it died due to that. I made a few sand box servers since then but they were never comparable to EGI. I'm in a rocky position but steadily I am getting my footing I have decided to make a dedicated effort to reviving EGI as it was before. There is a lot to do to make it happen and non of it will be easy.

There are a few main problems standing in the way of the revival.

• Firstly, all the old addons (ie, armaments, the game mode, the money system) are broken. They need to be updated to gmod 13 syntax changes.
  
• This leads us to the second big problem. I don't know any lua, and I cant afford to hire anyone to fix it for me.
  
• Thirdly, some of the gamemode systems require MySql and I dont know that either.
  
• Finally, I don't have any of the original forum's files and even if i had them I wouldnt know how to set them up

• I have secured the egigaming.com url. It was previously parked by some company and being sold for $11,000
  
• With that url I also have a dedicated web host, so once I learn how we can easily set up fastDL, MySql, and the forums

• Learn gLua
  
• Get armaments working
  
• Get the gamemode working
  
• See if EGI Admin is worth repairing or if ULX is better
  
• Get forums set up
  
• Get website set up

• Add something special for EGI vets
  
• Set up donation page and rewards
  
• Add new sweps to armaments
  
• Set up automated event system (base wars, weekend map change, etc)
  
  Its going to be a long journey to do all this, but we will get there eventually.
  
  Currently there is a sandbox server set up with alot of tool addons, wire, and m9k sweps. It's nothing like EGI but if you want to come hang out while everything is being fixed you are more than welcome to.
