Two-Thousand-Eighteen and Beyond

2017 was a blast! Our community grew faster than ever, we reached 1000+ members on our Steam group[d3a7.link], 140 registered users on our Discord server[d3a7.link] and even launched a small landing-page for our website[d3a7.link].

Here's a small breakdown of topics regarding of what's happening in 2018 and beyond.

Throughout 2017 we've been running two dedicated servers for the community, located in Europe, which were received quite well by all of you and our endless-mode server featured 1.000+ day worlds repeatedly. Costs of renting servers aren't neglectable and although we'd prefer to keep them running for you, we had to decide to close the servers down for now due to financial reasons. That's unfortunate but we will be looking for affordable servers throughout 2018 and hopefully we can offer dedicated servers again in the future.


We started our Discord server in August 2016 and have reached 140 registered users by now. To boost member-count and general activity on our Discord server, and to make it more useful for everybody, we've planned to invest lots of time in making our own Discord bot better in 2018. At the moment the bot is capable of posting pre-defined links and finding topics on the DST wiki. In the future we want to make the bot a central tool of our community, helping members to promote community content, find people to play with and servers to play on, and much, much more.


The main attention in the new year will be community growth. Our goal is to create a big, thriving and active, inclusive and welcoming Don't Starve Together community and support everyone to have the perfect gaming experience, playing one of the best survival games to date. To achieve this goal we need the help, feedback and input of you. Regardless of what your involvement in Don't Starve Together is, whether you're a gamer, a mod-developer, an artist, a streamer, a content-creator, or even a game-developer; we want to make your experience in our community great and that's why we want to hear from you!
