Hosting the official Minigames server as well as other custom gamemodes for Garry's Mod since 2009

Long awaited return

The servers are once again live after many years. We saw that people (or at least some) wanted to play on the servers but couldn't over the years. All of us that started this community up have been busy growing up and getting our lives together–going to uni, attaining a job etc etc which left us no time to really focus on keeping a community up. Starting from today, for as long as possible we will be hosting these servers once again for you all to enjoy. We understand that many of you may not want to play anymore– that's fine, it's more a general announcement to make people aware the servers are up and running again after so long for those that may still wish to relive the moments they once had on them again. Since the DarkerGaming domain was left unattended for so many years, the URL has been bought and put up for sale so we went with a bit of a rebrand under DoTheFunny. Further down the line this may change back as we have migrated to a Discord server for ease of communication outside the servers.

We thought about this for a year or so after we had gotten a grasp on what we wanted, so this isn't just a sudden out of nowhere event. Some of you may have even noticed the minigames server was under dothefunny for well over a year as a nostalgia. We've fixed some issues with our addon and now everything should be as it once was–or a state the servers were in pre-shutdown.


Since this is technically a rebrand/restart, data has been wiped. I understand that this could frustrate some people, but it's unrealistic to expect to have the progress saved from 6+ years ago when the servers went down. This is an opportunity for old and new players to have an equal standing and have a reason to dedicate their time on the servers once more. Most of the stuff is cosmetic and can be re-obtained. Take this like it is– a fresh start.


I have amended the existing group description to contain all of the information such as the server IPs and the Discord server you can join which is a replacement for the forum. Please note we won't be paying much–if any–attention to the steam group postings/commenting so if you have anything important to say, it's best done on the Discord server.


Whilst we appreciate support, the only support we would really like to see is utilisation of the servers and suggestions on what we could implement/offer. We are currently not accepting any donations.
