Well, the awesome thing about Desura; it's the "Steam" of mods and indie games. Free access to mods and addons. When you install a desura (mod) it's also installed on your STEAM!!!

Desura is a new Digital Distribution System (Similar to Steam) that focuses on it's community and putting new developers in the Spotlight. Most of it's catalog right now consists of Mods, Free Standalone Games, Indie Games, and shortcuts to Moddable games, such as Half Life.
It's interface is similar to that of Steam's and navigation is the same. You can get games on your list in a few ways: Activation (As in the Humble Indie Bundle), Free Download (Mods & Standalones), getting an automatic shortcut (As in Steam games) or purchasing it.
