An Introduction to Dark Ambient

Dark ambient is a subgenre of industrial music that features foreboding ominous, or discordant overtones. Dark ambient is an unusually diverse genre related to ambient music and nose yet the generally free from derivatives and connections to other genres or styles. Dark ambient often consists of evolving dissonant harmonies of drones and resonances low frequeny rumbles and machine nosies sometimes supplenebted by gones percussive rhythms, bullroarer, distorted voices and other found sounds often processes to the point where the original sample cannot be recognized.

This includes: Dark Drone Ambient, Dark Space Ambient, Dark Ritual Ambient, Horror Ambient, Black Ambient, Dark Tribal Ambient, Cinematic Dark Ambient, Dark Noise Ambient, Field Recording driven Dark Ambient and others.

For honorable mentions we have things such as Death Industrial, Grey Ambient, Ritual Noise, Dark Drone and Power Electronics and Ritual Industrial which is where the primary styles took some influences from and refined them.

Cryo Chamber (you misspelled the label name). Is a mainstream Dark Ambient label with surface level artists. It's a good place to start if you're new to the genre, but you won't get a good grasp on all the different sub-genres and intricacies that come with it.
