Dear EA and BioWare

Dear EA and BioWare,

you would not teach a man how to fly and then expect him to walk, so you would not give us DAO on Steam and then expect us to sit out. We are a group of customers loyal as any other who place our trust in Steam for their leading reliability and service. It would be inconvenient for us to spend money on Dragon Age II elsewhere because we want to have a consistency in the way we want to manage our games. We do not want to be forced from quality service we are used to and/or have used to play DAO. We ask that EA and BioWare make us more than just a part of their business plan just as we offer our support for the games you provide. We ask that you bring Dragon Age 2 Signature Edition to Steam without us having to wait longer or pay extra to enjoy the same content as other paying customers.

Steam DA2 fans' concerns hushed, looped, and ignored.

For those that have been following a ten page discussion (before it was locked by Chris Priestly) on the BioWare social forums will already know that reasoning with EA/BioWare is nothing short of frustrating:

We have made many efforts to get in touch and learn of their plans for Steam, especially with the SE preorders on other platforms expiring in just a couple days. Apparently they love to send us after our own tails; from the BioWare forums where Priestly told us to contact EA Customer Service, whom told us to contact the EA PR, who are now regretting their contact info is publicly available and is being censored from the BioWare forums, whom tell us that it is the mods job to deal with the fans when it clearly isn't, especially when all they are instructed to say is "we have no information" and lock threads the second they go slightly off topic. Great customer service right? And all the while we are all reminded why we are skeptical about making our purchases in EA's digital deathtrap or other hell holes, especially after Steam has earned our trust.

Now we do know that SE is not expected for Steam, an estimated $20 loss for those that expect to continue their Dragon Age adventure on Steam, and a slap in the face at our supportive response to BioWare/EA games. But who knows now? At least our efforts have made EA think twice about their plans for Steam users. Depending on EA's business approach, I think I'll just hold my money until the Ultimate Edition. Many others are taking a more drastic approach saying they won't be interested in BioWare/EA games any longer.

Updates! Getting in touch with EA

What we know so far is that time is running out to pick up the free Signature Edition upgrade when you preorder Dragon Age 2. BioWare's Chris Priestly has stated on the social forum that the Signature Edition of DA2 is not expected on Steam, and that BioWare has no further information on Steam. Seems like news of what is headed to Steam for Dragon Age fans (if anything) is being kept in the dark.

After numerous efforts by fans on the BioWare forum asking about the Signature Edition for Steam without a clear answer, it seems that our attention must now be turned to EA. I sent in a ticket and a representative from the EA support team replied that he was not in a position to answer my question. He suggested that we get in touch with the PR for the title:

Ironic that on the page it reads "BioWare Rewards Eager Fans With Free Upgrade to the Dragon Age II BioWare Signature Edition." Apparently not all eager fans.

Whether this is a glimmer of hope, we're not yet sure, but stay tuned and spread the word by sending your other Dragon Age buddies an invite to the group to become involved.

i'm just going to wait until they bundle everything up for a steam sale at a fair price. college keeping me busy so if EA wanna be asshats to their customers along with Chris Fakeass Priestly then i'm in no rush at all to spend my money.

Game was good, While it wasn't like DAO. It was more of a hack n slash game without constant button/mouse mashing.

I will not buy the DA2 because its not DA2. Its totally different game developed so quickly to get money to improve the profit. Dragon age was the game with "soul". This DA2 but is nothing only piece of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ crap. I will buy WITHCHER2 cause its Witcher 2 and I know that even in future the adventure might continue....
