Something to think about that I remember someone posting about. The Brawn Over Brains PDA and Metal Shield PDA should have some sort of cosmetic to go with them to signify that the person has them equipped. Perhaps that's something to think about?

Well, I want to do a over-haul of most of the engi weapons (melee and PDAs), but I have no idea when it's going to happen :(

for the visual aspect, you can still try to add a permanant unusual effect

Rocket launcher for Solidier

(+) on alt+fire : shoot a large spheric projectile
(+) on large projectile shoot with a rocket : cause a 250% blast radius explosion without damage falloff (max normal damage)
(-) -25% damage
(-) -25% clip size
(-) -60% alt+fire projectile
(-) alt+fire cost 2 ammo in clip
(-) alt+fire projectile have no damage

Le Diapason (a real musician instrument)

(+) on backstab : cause the victim to be marked
(+) the victim loose 20% max health each second (5 second to go for full health)
(+) while a victim is marked, you are 75% bonk! Invulnerable and speedboosted
(-) your knife is blocked during the duration of the mark (can't attack or switch)
(-) no direct backstab
(-) mark duration is 5 second only (getting more than full health by pack save you)

A somewhat hit'n'run backstab knife that cause your victim to resonate at 440Hz, breaking his bone and kill him with horrible intern bleeding
This leave you a chance to survive, but your victim can survive too, making it a safe but less sure weapon

Is 5 second to short/long ? Feedback would be appreciated, exept if it's ebola

Medic melee for

(+) crit from behind
(+) crit stun the target for 1 second
(+) crit chance increase with missing health (up to 100% at... 0 HP ?)

(-) on crit : stun your melee (like a razorback)
(-) crit start at 0%, crit chance isn't increased by damage done (use no random crit and code your own)

A somewhat rework of this stun medic melee, yeah... Im nostalgic... Even for unbalanceable weapon...

Magical weapon (absolutely not a flare gun)

Insight Wrath

(o) have particle effect attack to the weapon (the pyro hand), a red flame (burningplayer1 ?)
(o) no actual visible weapon, or a hand
(o) shoot a fireball without damage (can replace rocket texture if fireball is too hardcoded)
(+) on burning player hit : victim loose 50% of his max health
(+) fireball have a blast radius
(+) +20% deploy rate/holster rate
(-) on burning player hit : remove ignition
(-) -33% reload rate
(-) no damage
(-) fireball are slower than flare

This weapon, isn't like the base flare gun, it's stronger against heavy (150 damage) or solidier (100 damage)
But weaker against light class (62 damage)
And also don't ignite after dealing damage
But it's also easier to use due to the blast radius and quick draw, making it a nice combo against more heavy class using flamethrower or Volcano sharp at close range

This even might be weak compared to stock flare fun... Any smart suggestion ?

Wrangler is great for countering uber,

A good ol' rescue ranger is way better to be sure to keep your stuff far from ubercharged heavy

okay but the problem is the user can easily pass a sentry using charge

You can pass a sentry with any charge...

If you switch teams using the urin trouble (The jarate pack for sniper) It acts as if you activate it for the team your joining so it coveres the team you were on in jarate if they were in the splash zone

That a game glitch... Wouldn't be counterable I guess
