Critical Failure

So summer is around the corner, or should be if it stops to rain at some point, and stuff and things are happening. So some news :)


Steam and gog.com

For those of you who have a steam and a gog.com account there is something called gog-connect now. This allow you to connect your steam account and your gog.com account. If you do that you get free copies of some of your steam games for your gog.com account. The games that qualify for this change from time to time. It's working pretty good so far – I think I got three or four games the day it came out.


Shroud of the Avatar.

After Release 32 on July 28, 2016 the game will no longer be wiped, or with other words – the game will be released. If you own a in game lot, lot selection will also start on that day. The time of your in game lot selection window depends on your Tier and Pledge level – if you need more infos about this please contact me.

I also wanted to ask who will give it a try. Sure its not a typical raiding-game and closer to classical „true“ mmos, where killing stuff and questing is not the main focus – so it might not be the game for everyone. I for myself got a game pack with a small house and lot, so I will try it for sure and see how it plays. If you also want to give it a try please let me know :)


Star Citizen

Star Citizen Alpha 2.4 is out. A lot of new stuff in the game now, the first steps into a persistent world (Decisions you made stay from one login to the next, same as criminal status, and alpha-cash). Additional some smaller and a few big multi crew ships made it into the game.

I also want to point you towards a „good“ chance that will happen next weekend.
Next Friday the concept sale for the Dragonfly ship will start. So if you don't follow the game very close this might mean nothing to you – so ill try to explain it with a few words.

In the game you can lose your ship for various reasons (crash it, got killed by bandits, someone steal it, and so on...) If you want that ship replaced you need a ship insurance. This ship insurance more or less work the same as your RL car insurance – you pay a small monthly fee to get stuff replaced if bad things happens.

If you buy a ship during concept sale (the first time they sell this ship) you get a small goodie called LTI – stands for Lifetime insurance. This means the ship in this one Game / Ship Pack is always insured and you don't need to pay the monthly fee for a „normal“ insurance. As soon as the few days of concept sale are over, you no longer can buy the ship with LTI included.

The interesting thing happens if you throw all of that into the upgrade tool on the RSI Website. If you buy on of this small LTI ship/game packs (like the Dragonfly ) you can use it and upgrade it to a bigger ship later. The nice „detail“ about this is, the upgrade tool only change the ship itself in your game / ship pack and does not change any other goodies in this pack (like a skin,...) therefore it also does not change the insurance that comes with that pack. And the insurance on this concept sale packs is, as said, LTI – so with this workaround (now worry – RSI know about this and it is totally ok for them) you can get a Lifetime insurance on bigger ship / the ship you want.

I thought I let you know because it for sure is the cheapest LTI Pack available for a long, long time. (maybe the cheapest ever)

After Sallys suggestion we now have a Discord Server.

What is Discord – Discord “combine” a text chat client with a voice chat client.
The programm is available for Windows and Mac OS and as App for Android and iOS. A client for Linux is coming soon.
