1/4 - Widescreen Resolution Mod

This will allow you to play the game at your monitor's native resolution.

Steps:

1- Type "regedit" into your Windows start menu.

2- Go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Codemasters\Colin McRae Rally 04

or

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Codemasters\Colin McRae Rally 04

or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Codemasters\Colin McRae Rally 04

3- Adjust Width and Height values to your desired resolution (make sure to be in decimal mode).

4- That's it, now launch the game!

2/4 - Widescreen HUD Mod

This mod will fix the stretched HUD elements and makes the game feel more recent.

Steps:

1- Go to the following link and right-click on your aspect ratio, then select "Download". It will take a few seconds to compress and actually download the file so be patient:

2- Meanwhile make a backup of the "cmr4.exe" file and Fonts folder.

3- Open the downloaded .zip file and run the "Full.exe" file and replace the old "cmr4.exe" with the newly generated one.

3- Drop the Fonts folder on your main game's folder and when asked, select to replace all.

4- That's it, you can now launch the game!

Attention: This mod causes a side effect, which is a slightly glitched Service Area. Included fonts are fully compatible with English, French, German, Italian and Spanish languages. If you're playing at another language, some characters may be missing or displayed incorrectly. In this case, DO NOT replace these files:
