Anyone who is unfamiliar can just ask for installation instructions from anyone already on the player list. These mods add a whole lot of changes to what vanilla Minecraft is now, so the server is essentially 1.7, with a few perks from later versions of the game. Here's a list of all changes these mods are used for on the server:

- No hunger bar (sometimes it will show up, but it won't deplenish)
- All Beta 1.7.3 terrain generation with Beta 1.8+ structures
- Alpha fire behavior
- TNT is extinguished with a punch
- Mushrooms spread
- Ladders w/ gaps are climbable
- Lava hurts players and mobs through wall corners
- Boats float in waterfalls
- Minecarts accelerate when collided
- Enchanting tables and experience bar enabled
- Instant eating (rotten flesh immediately hurts you!)
- Food stacking enabled
- Rare drops from mobs (ingots, armor, weapons) disabled
- Bow durability disabled
- 1.7.3 combat system
- Sprinting enabled
- Old mob AI
- Animal panic/fleeing disabled
- Pre-1.0 mobs (no mooshrooms or ocelots)
- Mobs jump when pursuing target
- Sheep eat grass
- Spiders climb walls
- Default slime spawning

If any player wants any of these settings to change, everything is debatable. All these changes have been made server-side, but in the 'Eyecandy' and 'Sounds' sections of OldDays, you can change anything you like in Singleplayer, and they will also change on the server for you. I use it to enable the old 'Ooh!' hurt sound and old explosion sounds. Enjoy!
