we are a *PEACEFUL* server! Which means;

-Trolling

-Cheating (we will ACTIVELY MONITOR this day in, day out)

1st warning;
-Verbal
2nd warning;
-Kick
3rd and FINAL warning, NO exeptions;
-Ban

ABSOLUTELY YES(allowed) :)
-Stealing (if you hide your loot in the open, you assume all risk)
-Home/Fort/Base Break-ins (no killing the player if they're sleeping)
-PvP (see above)
-killing admins (we're just like you guys, and respectful, we play the game, and abide by the rules, within reason, don't go "hunting" admins we will ban you :)
-Swearing

We will add/remove rules (all within reason) based on community feedback,
and will continue to tweak the server to provide the the best possible experience for our community!

In Addendum,

Sometimes when the game devs release an update, (depending on the update, sometimes it's bug fixing, or a big re-work like the one that removed Zombies) our server gets completely re-set, and everyone looses everything(Yes! including us Admins too!) Unfortunately, this is out of our control.

"But Dear Glorious Admins, what about those promised daily server back ups that you do?"
Well, it works when our Server Host does regular server resets :) But, as mentioned, If the gamedevs make a MAJOR change, then the old savefiles are incompatible and will not load :( As stated, unfortunately, this is beyond our control.

The good news is, everyone starts from scratch! Keep things interesting!
Believe us, EVEN the Admins, we too, lose everything, so we're JUST like you guys!

Baby come back, you can blame it all on me
Just a quick update from all of us...

Being an admin is tough, tougher still is being an admin for a game and server infrastructure that is still an early alpha.
That and me (CMDR.Vigilance) working a 40hr a week job, and personal life, makes it challenging.

We have not abandoned you. Not by a long shot

With all that said, as some of you may have noticed, that our server wasn't showing in the list. This has since been fixed. (with the updates and all)

On the subject of "lag"...

As some of you have mentioned there are moments when it seems like our server "lags". Speaking from a purely technical perspective, there is no "actual" lag.

What do I mean by this you ask?
Our host, HFB, has all of their game servers DDoS Protected. Yes, we do pay a little more for this service but there are Pro's and Con's to having DDoS protection;

After reviewing the server network logs, the server's ping has not gone higher than 94ms in the last 30 days, and that's on a BAD day. We average a balmy 60-74ms on a regualr basis.

DDoS Protection 101

There are many ways to protect against DDoS attacks, but one of the primary ways is to have the connection "hop" through multiple nodes to reach the destination.

For example, a NON DDoS protected server would work like this: You--->your ISP--->Server ISP--->Server and vice versa. Creating a lag free environment. However it is HIGHLY succeptible to DDoS attacks.
A DDoS PROTECTED server:
You--->Your ISP--->Server ISP---> Node 1,2,3,4,5,6,7--->Server and vice versa.
These nodes are randomized every time, so if they have high ping, it causes the "de-sync" issues, causing rubberbanding.

Hopefully this explains why it happens.

We are pleased to annouce...we are FULLY live, configured, and READY TO GO!

Yes!!!! Finally!
EVERYTHING is up and running as it should;
Rust++ is FULLY set up and Configured with chat commands, MOTD, and messages set to cycle ever 15 mins all set up!

Was a pain in the ass but we got it working!!!!

"what about the server downtime you guys scheduled for feb 14th?"

Well, we figured, why wait? That is, when i got home from work, the server was empty so i took the time to update everything and configure it properly :D
We did do a back up, so everyone should still have their stuff! (i hope)
