I swim alone,
Alone and free,
Until a speed boat,
Comes running over me,
It hits so hard,
I feel great pain,
But who cares for a manatee,
That's covered with bloodstains,
My friends come to help,
With sorrow in their eyes,
Thinking who would do such a thing,
What a sad surprise,
They started to get scared,
They wanted to flee,
Everyone swam away,
Leaving only me,
I started to cry,
Sobbing in fact,
I was so mad,
I wanted to fight back,
But how could I,
I slow dumb creature,
Help change the course,
Of man-made nature.









Today I am gentle. A gentle giant. My body is not Manatee but I’m a giant just like he.
Today I am loving. A loving creature of this earth. Nothing have I to prove, I know my worth.
Today I am like a child. A child that explores. Only playing games, never keeping scores.
Today I am friendly. A friendly face in the crowd. Still and serene but my smile is loud.
Today I am exploring. Always exploring in awe. Knowing this is all unrehearsed, ever, always raw.
Today I am inquisitive. Inquiring on all I see. Giving an honest shot at live and let it be.
Today I am playful. Playing just to have fun. Letting loose enjoyment and catching raindrops in the sun.
Today I am non violent. Non violence just for now. I don’t have to hurt anyone not man, not bird, not cow.
Today I am pure calmness. Calm as a quiet sea. Anything could happen tomorrow but today I know how to be.
Today I am fearless. Just fearless and nothing less. Fear has only ever functioned to get me in a mess.
Today I am innocent. Innocent and grand in display. I need apologize for nothing because I was made this way.
Today I am accepting. I accept every little thing. Lay my sword down in trust and accept the golden ring.
Today I am surrendering. I surrender to what I am. Maybe not a Manatee but something just as grand.
