The Video Game Holy League (a Catholic group) exists to proclaim and defend the One True Faith across the entire gaming theater.

The name is taken from the original Holy League of the Catholic Kingdoms, States, Military Orders and Republics of Spain, Venice, Papal States, Knights of Malta and numerous other factions of Christendom.

The Holy League was assembled to repel the inevitable Islamic invasion of the Catholic west. This ultimately lead to the Sea Battle of Lepanto (1571) which became a decisive Catholic victory over the Islmic States and which has cripled Islam at sea for the past five centuries as a result. The main credit of this victory is attributed to "Our Lady of Victory," also known as "Our Lady of The Rosary."

This group is in part inspired by this great historic event and is created for guiding Catholics down the proper and virtuous path of gaming, as well as the vital need to sanctify the gaming society for the sake of the salvation of every last gamer's soul.

@ based ♥♥♥♥ man - Your statement is mostly right. However, I don't believe gaming is a complete waste of time. Gaming is an indulgence, just like drinking or smoking. This of course is also the reason why it has to be treated just as serious as the others. That is why it can be a thing of virtue. We as Catholics need to role play as Catholics to the best extent that we can, while at the same time bringing the Faith to others in the gaming society.

Just about 3 weeks ago, I was able to convince a woman to read the book by St. Teresa of Avila called "The Interior Castle." This is a prime example of how gaming can be worth a persons time. Gaming is an extremely young thing, along with the entire digital theater throughout the whole world, especially compared to the 2,000 year history of the Catholic Church. Gaming is not evil in of itself, but of course it has to be done right.

Nice group. I'm not perfect (steam name explains that) but I disagree that gaming could be virtuous at all, it is all really just a worldly waste of time.
