Welcome to the Yo-kai Watch Steam Group!

Yo-kai Watch is a series of role-playing games and anime created by Level-5. The series follows the adventures of a boy named Nate or a girl named Katie after being given a magical "Yo-kai Watch" for helping a Yo-kai named Whisper.

The Yo-kai watch allows it's user to see mysterious Yo-kai which are inspired by various parts of Japanese culture and life, each one with it's own story, character and abilities waiting to be discovered. Yo-kai are behind many events and oddities that happen in the world as well. After a Yo-kai is befriended it'll give a medal which can be used to summon it with the Yo-kai Watch.

The mascot Yo-kai are Jibanyan and Komasan. Jibanyan is a lazy cat Yo-kai who enjoys chocolate and the fictional idol group NyaKB. Komasan is a komainu Yo-kai from the countryside who likes ice cream and tends to stumble into various situations. There is also Whisper who is Nate's Yo-kai butler and gives advice on Yo-kai (using the Yo-kai Pad).

The term Yo-kai (妖怪) is often romanised as Youkai or Yokai however the official spelling for the western release of this series is "Yo-kai".

Nate/Nathan is named Keita, and Katie is named Fumiko/Fumi-chan in the original.

Yo-kai Watch Manga in September!

VIZ Media will launch the Yo-Kai Watch manga in North America in September, the company is announcing today, one part of what looks to be a major global phenomenon. The launch will be coordinated with the launch of the anime and toys “around the same time,” the company said.
